Our pergola is tested and engineered to hold up to 80 mph winds while the louvers are closed. That is already low hurricane force wind!

If the wind is over this range, please open the louvers to let the wind go through. We have many customers in the Florida area who gave us feedback that our Villa Pergola lasted through a hurricane while keeping the louvers open.

Our wind resistant screens have a 80 mph wind resistant rating while closed. It is recommended to open the screens when strong winds come.

We are proud to say our Villa Pergola is engineered to withhold 15 PSF of snow load. That is a lot of snow! If the snow is over this range, please open the louvers to let the snow fall through.

With mixing of wet and dry snow, this means it can hold about at least 1 ft tall of snow on top while the louvers are closed. It is recommended to open the louvers during storm or snow season. (Online sources states Dry snow is about 4PSF, Normal snow is about 6PSF, Wet snow is about 14PSF. Please note, this is for reference only.)

Our villa pergola is engineered to be 13ft apart without a center post. Our biggest pergola now with 4 posts is the 13x13’ with louvers that are 13ft wide.This is not what economy brand can do. Guarantee.

We absolutely LOVE our pergola. It's hard to express how happy we are with the decision to add it to begin with but more importantly that we chose Bon Pergola. I did months of research between the varying options on the market. Bon Pergola seemed to be the best investment from a "bang for the buck" stand point...and it has not disappointed. The products arrived when expected and immediately you can tell this a high quality manufacturer simply based on the quality in which it is packaged in the factory. I do not believe it would be possible for one of the more expensive options to be better made...this is the way to go.

As well, the service at BP has exceeded all expectations. They were excellent in communicating from before the purchase through the completion of the project. The only recommendation I would make is utilizing them more. They have a number you can call with questions regarding installation...if you have a question, call and they will help. I also recommend having a MINIMUM of 3 people for installation...preferably 4. While 3 is doable...having 4 would cut down SIGNIFICANTLY as 2 can be working to build while the other two are unpacking and moving the pieces. As mentioned...the packaging is incredible to make sure it arrives safely...however, that means unpacking takes time. Help yourself by having the extra hands.

When all is said and done...if you are remotely considering purchasing one...I HIGHLY recommend pulling the trigger and doing so with Bon Pergola. You will not be disappointed.

Our pergola has been a game-changer!
We purchased the 13x19 Villa motorized. It arrived quickly, well packed and protected. I called several times with questions and the team was so helpful and generous! Living near the beach with no shade on our property, the decision to install this pergola extended our living and dining to outdoors, seamlessly. We had it hardwired to provide even more ease. LOVE IT!! Hope to add some accessories in the near future as the sun sets right in our view and we often can get a surprise shower. Would love a shade and a sensor! Overall, the experience was less good and more bad. Customer service is great, product is not worth the price tag. The product materials are good, but installation is very tough even for professionals. The motor shades are useless and even with perfect leveling, they don't work. The electricals for motorized louvers and wiring is not internal and is prone to damage with louvers. Everything should have been prewired for louveres, shades, and heating. I will not recommend to order for this price.

Understand your situation, no matter what rating we would get by the end of the day, we are going to make sure that screen will work for you! 8/20/24 update: Called and reach to customer, but not able to talk to the installer to fix the issue until later date. Apparently, the screen issue is leading factor. Hope we can help.
